gone a bit crazy since hitting the 9st gone mark!
although i bought some size 14 trousers and they fit just fine, i have been on an eat-athon since Monday! chomped my way through massive bags of crisps, hot cross buns, bread, bread and more bread!!!!
aaarrrrggggghhhhhhh

Hmmmmm
Sat here wondering what to write, seems like ages since i last posted something but quite frankly not much has happened! Back at work, weight moving very slowly, still waiting to hit my next stone marker although i am now further into the 16's i sooooooo want to get to the 6st mark.
Workouts at the gym are getting better, if you can call doing high levels for a more sweaty workout getting better! Finally learning to love the horrid cardio-glide machine (L3, 15m), love seeing myself being able to do harder stuff for longer, not so keen on ex-pupils seeing me sweating like mad but i get by! lol
Think that's about it, my 40's are plodding along, not much has changed but hey ho i'm not getting any fatter :O)

Jog On! update
having previously managed a 2 minute jog i was feeling really good at the gym today, i'd x-trained for 30mins, walked uphill for 30mins and done some resistance work, so as i was 'cooling down' on the treadmill i just felt that i hadn't quite finished and cranked the speed up, then up some more and a little more until i was jogging along at a fast walk.
finding this comfortable i just carried on and in a world record time (for me) i had soon completed a mile! i can't believe it altho if the twinging in my knees is anything to go by i will know all about it tomorrow lol

Jog On!
blimey I've been a little slack in the posting department just recently, mainly because i have been really hacked off with my lack of progress.
have decided to write off the last few weeks, altho i have been sicking to plan and exercising my weight loss has slowed to a pathetic drip, i mean 4lbs in 6 weeks - grrrrrrrr. now i know i should be happy with that and i guess overall it's OK, but god it's so frustrating! the school holidays have messed my master plan up, i really wanted 6 stone off for my birthday but as that is less than two weeks away and i still have 10lbs to go i don't somehow think that's gonna happen unless i cut a limb off! i never ever thought i would look forward to going back to work just to get my routine back in order and hopefully kick start my weight loss again!
anyway, moving on, i have just measured and I'm pleased to report that there are a few less centimetres of me than the last time i dared face the tape measure :O)
so onto my main news of the week, (cue fanfare.....) i have JOGGED on the treadmill this week!!! aaarrrrgggggghhhhhh thank god it backs onto a wall and no one had to stare at my wobbly buttocks bouncing around! lol but i am sooooo proud of myself altho my knees were less than pleased. now i only managed 3 mins but i truly couldn't get over the fact that i felt happy to do it and in a public place too, i just thought if 17 st rugby players can do it then I'm sure i can have a go and so i did!
well that's enough of my ramblings for now, good luck one and all and HAGW x

Cardio Wave Machine
or how the gym nearly killed me!
as it's the school holidays i really have no excuse for not visiting the gym and as a result I have been going everyday (pushing for the 6 stones by my 40th in Sept!)
so last week i thought i would try the cardio wave machine, it's like a step machine, you have two foot pads and basically you lift your knees and you kind of float, sounds weird and is!
OH MY GOD after 1 minute i thought i might die, it is the hardest thing i have ever done in my entire life, i swear! but, i did manage to stay on for 5 minutes and had to stop when i could no longer feel my knees! when i got off (fell off) i couldn't walk and had to lean ungraciously against a metal divider lol
however, i have persevered with it and today i am pleased to say that i have increased my time to 5.5 mins and could still feel my knees at the end, although breathing was a bit of a luxury!
obviously as i am writing this i survived and i am determined to get to the 10 minute mark

Good luck this week one and all x

practice makes perfect!
so my R4L is now looming over the horizon and I thought i should probably get some sustained walking practice in as i want to beat my plodding time of last year - 56m. i mean i usually manage to clock up 6miles a day at work but that is just puddling about over 8 hrs, it's a long time (last years R4L) since i did any sustained walking!
90 mins in the gym and i managed the 3.3 miles in 53 mins! yay lets hope i can repeat that on the day :O)

Swimming (a moan)
I go swimming every morning, sad I know but true. I generally do a brisk 1/2 an hr, swimming about 1.5km.
Anyway, I went this morning as usual and OH MY GOD the pool was pretty much full when I got there at 8.10 (it doesn't open til 8am on a w/end), it was awful :O( i had to keep changing course to avoid slower swimmers, at one point I had to stop as there was just no way through ggrrrrrr. Yesterday was a completely different story, busy from 6.30am til 7, but then everyone got out and I had the pool to myself for another half an hour - bliss. If only every morning was like that!
I'm not entirely sure why I'm posting this, I was just proper annoyed this morning at the gym, do you know what really annoys me, and this is going to sound terrible, what really annoys me about the gym is that I pay for full peak membership but on bank holidays and w/ends the gym doesn't open til 8am (it's usually 6.30am) so i lose 1.5hrs of my peak time, however the off-peak members don't lose 1.5hrs of their membership and I am more and mroe beginning to think this is rubbish! There I said it, I know it sounds really petty but there it is!
